David is a Process Safety Engineer and is the Founder of Salus Technical. His roles in Process Safety, have included Project Lead and Technical Authority. At Salus, David wrote a Process Safety on-demand training course, which has been completed by over 1,500 people working in the North Sea, and the company has launched their own software packages relating to Bowtie diagrams, Human Factors, and Incident Investigation, used by almost 50 companies across the world. Last year, Salus published research into recurring findings from HSE Inspections. This followed a FOI request to obtain over 1,000 non-compliances from offshore HSE inspections in 2019. This is available for free on the Salus website. Most recently, David and the Salus team launched HAZOP.AI, a demo to showcase the potential value - and pitfalls - for AI in the safety industry. In his spare time, David is an amateur distance runner and loves playing chess.
