Amanda Smith is the UAV Equipment Programme Lead at Sellafield working within the Engineering & Maintenance division. She manages all UAV flights at Sellafield, from asset inspections to emergency response and ensures they are delivered safely and within the legislation as set by the CAA and the Sellafield nuclear safety case. She is passionate about how UAVs and other remote technologies can be used within industry to deliver traditional work in new ways; keeping people away from harm, limited downtime to projects, and saving millions of pounds to the business. Amanda believes a collaborative approach across the NDA (Nuclear Decommissioning Authority) and other UAV subject matter expert companies is key to driving UAV technology forward.
