As Regional Snr HSSE Manager at Wood, Derek is part of the HSSE&S leadership team, supporting the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region and is focused on delivering safe and sustainable operations. Derek began his energy career in training, delivering courses and solutions in the UK and various locations around the world before moving into an HSE Advisor role with Petrofac in 2008, working on Duty Holder projects across the UK. He joined Wood in 2013 and manages the HSE team within the UK business, leading a team of 30, supporting facilities and producing assets across multiple clients and energy sectors. He is an IOSH chartered Safety Practitioner and has previously spent over a decade with the HM Coastguards Search & Rescue team, conducting shore-based SAR operations.
