Sellafield’s Engineering Centre of Excellence is based at Cleator Moor in West Cumbria.  The facility has a variety of objectives from running a socio-economic programme, an Engineering Development Solutions team focusing problem solving sprints, to being a home for nuclear industry leading organisations such as the Remote Technologies Group.  An advantage of being close to but not on the Sellafield site is that we can build much closer relationships with our supply chain colleagues and academia.

The facility was built on three principles when it opened in 2020:

1. Treating people properly – giving people the opportunity to excel and push their boundaries.
2. Doing the simple things well – fighting against the over complication of simple tasks.
3. Driving high standards from the doorstep – raising expectations as high as we can.

These three principals have helped foster a positive and creative environment which consistently delivers on a wide variety of scope.
