David is an established industry leader with 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. David is respected across the sector for his strategic and hands-on leadership in the North Sea and around the world, including the USA, Netherlands, and Philippines.

Donny Chisholm
Donny Chisholm served as a Police Officer for 30 years from Constable to Chief Inspector. He specialised as a Police Negotiator / Coordinator and led the transition of Police Negotiator provision across Scotland during the formation of Police Scotland in 2013. He served within the Energy Industry Liaison Unit harmonising offshore emergency response and crisis management protocols through EPOL, UKPOEG and visiting many offshore installations. He retired as the Critical Incident Manager within the North Area Control Room in Aberdeen. Donny joined Petrofac as a Project Manager where he shares his emergency response and crisis management experience / skills to best effect. Donny translates his passion for supporting those suffering deteriorating Mental Health offshore through his involvement as a Mental Health First Aider and, recently acquiring Public Health Scotland accreditation for the delivery of the globally recognised ‘Living Works’ Applied Suicide Intervention Training (ASIST), specifically targeting the offshore community.

Graham Filsell is a Chartered Chemical Engineer with over 20 years’ experience in the O&G industry, supporting clients predominantly in feasibility and concept assessments for brownfield developments, as well as providing operational support for complex process issues. In Graham’s role at Kent, understanding the changing landscape of O&G operations through the energy transition is critical to supporting clients on their journey to Net Zero. Graham recently led a baselining activity for a major NOC across all their assets, identifying the projects, challenges, and risks associated with achieving their commitment to the World Bank’s Zero Routine Flaring by 2030 initiative. He has also contributed to the ASTF’s Net Zero Culture guideline and has been involved in developing a guideline for the Energy Institute related to the economics of decarbonisation projects.

Graham Skinner
Graham Skinner is the Health & Safety Manager at Offshore Energies UK, where he leads efforts to manage health and safety concerns while fostering collaboration among members to enhance offshore safety across the UK. His role encompasses process safety, major accident hazards, and personal safety, as well as aviation safety, security, and operational resilience. Graham is a Chartered Engineer and a member of the Energy Institute.
Graham began his career in the energy sector with a drilling contractor, holding various roles on land rigs and mobile offshore drilling units in the Middle East and Africa. Encountering extreme operating conditions, security challenges and developed a high degree of personal resilience. In 2013, he transitioned to the UK Health and Safety Executive, where he regulated the safety of well engineering and operations.
Since joining Offshore Energies UK in February 2023, Graham has delivered strategic responses to key challenges, such as reducing maintenance backlogs. He supports UK and Scottish Government national resilience efforts via the Industry Resilience Group and various exercises and workshops

Kris Kydd
Kris is a chartered electrical engineer with over 20 years’ experience in the Energy Industry with previous roles including operations and robotics from R&D to site implementation. Since 2022 Kris has been responsible for the implementation of a variety of emissions measurement technology including quadcopter, Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLoS) unmanned aerial systems and most recently Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) wireless spectrometers.
Kris has identified and implemented synergies between unmanned aircraft inspection and emissions measurement campaigns. With three years’ experience in managing aerial emissions measurement campaigns, Kris plays a key role in providing operational lessons learnt and recommendations in the OEUK Aerial Methane Measurement Topic Group to establish industry guidelines based on deployment knowhow.

Laura De Rossi is an Italian environmental engineer based in Copenhagen, Denmark. She joined Explicit in 2021 as an Emissions Analyst and has since progressed to a Project Manager role, before taking on her current position as Laboratory Manager, leading the project management team. Laura brings several years of hands-on experience delivering emissions monitoring campaigns and is responsible for overseeing the delivery of all emission reports at Explicit, ensuring full compliance with ISO 17025 accreditation requirements. Her experience also includes offshore measurement campaigns on oil and gas platforms, combining technical leadership with real-world expertise.

Lisa Tuckwell
Lisa Tuckwell is a senior maritime leader with over 20 years of experience across the Royal Navy, oil and gas consultancy, and the Civil Service.
Since her appointment as Deputy to the Secretary of State’s Representative for Maritime Salvage and Intervention (SOSREP) in 2019, she has played a critical role in protecting UK maritime interests through strategic leadership and expert incident management.
Lisa has led responses to several major maritime incidents, including the Stena Immaculate tanker allision and MV Mazarine grounding, demonstrating her ability to coordinate complex, multi-agency operations and make high-level decisions under pressure.
She represents the Secretaries of State for Transport and for Energy Security and Net Zero during incidents, assuming full authority in the SOSREP’s absence.

Following a seven-year career with the Health & Safety Executive as an Offshore Inspector, Neil joined CNOOC International in Aberdeen as a Drilling HSE Advisor in 2007. By 2008 he was Regional Manager HSE for CNOOC’s Yemen operations, working in the field for more than two years and supporting the development of national workforce into leadership roles. At the end of 2010, a move to Calgary into a global HSE role was followed by three years as General Manager of HSE for CNOOC’s Oilsands business in Fort McMurray. In 2018, he returned to Aberdeen as Senior Manager for HSE operations and projects.
In 2023, Neil was promoted to his current role, General Manager – HSE & Assurance, with responsibility for leading safe, sustainable, and compliant operations across CNOOC’s UK business.

Peter Evans
Peter Evans holds a PhD in geochemistry and an MBA in technology management. At bp he worked on a range of environmental technology challenges, including water quality, radioactive waste, noise pollution and greenhouse gas reporting. Before joining bp he was a senior scientist for the UKs chemical metrology programme and helped establish the Energy Futures Lab at Imperial College London. He is the technical lead behind the bp programme to measure and reduce methane emissions as part of its obligations to the UN led oil and gas methane partnership (OGMP2.0). Peter chaired the OEUK group exploring the effective use of aerial measurements of methane to meet emergent regulatory requirements for greenhouse gas reporting.

In July 2023, Peter joined Spirit Energy as Asset Director for the Morecambe Hub and in 2024 became Operations Director. Peter is a Chartered Chemical Engineer with an MSc in Process Technology and Management. He has 16 years of experience in the upstream oil and gas industry, with the most recent five years spent with EnQuest, where his final role was HSEA (Health, Safety, Environment and Assurance) Director. Throughout his career, Peter has demonstrated a successful track record of operational leadership and cultural change, earning recognition for delivering results and improving business performance. Peter joined Maersk Oil UK in 2007 as a Management Systems Advisor before becoming Offshore Installation Manager and laterally Operations Director. Peter joined EnQuest in 2018 ultimately being accountable for all of EnQuest’s operated production as Upstream Asset Manager.
Professor Applied Marine Biology & Ecology, University of Edinburgh & Mara Consultants Ltd
Professor J Murray Roberts
Murray Roberts leads the Changing Oceans research group (University of Edinburgh) and is a founding director of Mara Consultants Ltd. He studies deep-sea structural habitats, like cold-water corals and sponges, to optimise their long-term management. Since 1997 his work on cold-water has taken him to sites off the UK, Norway, Ireland, the SE United States, Cape Verde and the S Pacific. Among his external roles he was a contributing author to the 2014 and 2019 Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Reports and co-lead editor of a 2014 United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity report on ocean acidification. He led the 1st INSITE Phase Data Initiative and was a partner in the ANChor project examining ecological connectivity between North Sea platforms. Roberts co-leads a deep-sea ecosystem restoration workpackage in the European REDRESS consortium. He is a member of the Scottish Science Advisory Council to government.
University Director for Energy Transition and Professor of Geoscience, University of Aberdeen
Professor John Underhill
John Underhill is Aberdeen University’s Interdisciplinary Director for Energy Transition and Professor in Geoscience and Energy Transition in their School of Geosciences. He is the academic executive director of the UK’s GeoNetZero* Centre of Doctoral Training (CDT). His research interests focus upon the role of geoscience in the energy transition and use of methods and data in providing the best solutions and outcomes to deliver low-carbon net zero goals. Before taking up an academic career that has seen him hold posts at Edinburgh, Heriot-Watt and Aberdeen Universities, John worked as an Exploration Geoscientist for Shell and has also undertaken sabbaticals with bp in Glasgow and Norsk Hydro in Bergen. John helped lead Heriot-Watt’s efforts to set up the Lyell Centre for Earth and Marine Science and Technology and was the University’s Chief Scientist. He was a board member of the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE) for three years and their President in 2011-12. John was the Chair of the National Energy Skills Accelerator (NESA), a collaboration between Aberdeen University, Robert Gordon University *RGU), North-East Scotland College, Skills development Scotland and Energy Transition Zone (ETZ) in 2022-23. An unusual fact is that he also was a professional football referee who officiated in the top-flight matches in Scotland and Europe between 1994-2008.

Sam Mayall is the founder and CEO of Zelim, an Edinburgh-based maritime technology company established in 2017 to transform search, rescue and maritime security through advanced AI-driven systems.
A former North Sea deck officer in the merchant navy, Sam experienced first-hand the realities of offshore emergencies, including a fatal man overboard incident that shaped his belief that lives could be saved through better technology. In his early twenties, he left his seafaring career to found Zelim. Under his leadership, Zelim has secured over £12.5m in private investment and grant funding, and a senior team drawn from global maritime safety leaders.
Zelim’s technology portfolio includes ZOE, an AI-powered detection and tracking system; Swift, a rapid rescue conveyor; and Guardian, an unmanned rescue vessel. Together, these solutions aim to dramatically reduce rescue times while removing responders from harm, advancing Zelim’s mission to make unmanned search and rescue the global standard.
